Return & Refund Policy

At Buy Irish Art, every artwork is produced to order using archival fine-art materials and professionally made specifically for each customer. These are not mass-produced stock items.

We encourage customers to carefully review artwork details, dimensions, framing options, and product descriptions before placing an order.

Returns

We accept return requests within 14 days of delivery.

To be eligible for a return:

  • the item must be unused and in the same condition as received
  • the item must be returned in its original packaging
  • proof of purchase or order confirmation is required
  • the return must be approved by us before being shipped back

Items returned without prior authorisation will not be accepted.

If your return request is approved, we will provide return instructions and the correct return address.

Non-Returnable Situations

Because all artworks are produced to order, we do not accept returns for:

  • change of mind
  • incorrect size selection
  • ordering mistakes made by the customer
  • colour or tone differences caused by screen or device displays
  • dissatisfaction with framing style or finish where the item matches the product description
  • items that have been altered, reframed, dismantled, mounted, or modified after delivery

We also do not accept returns on:

  • custom or personalised artworks
  • special-order items
  • sale items
  • gift cards

Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for carefully reviewing:

  • artwork dimensions
  • frame selections
  • product descriptions
  • shipping information
  • delivery details

Product images are provided for illustrative purposes only and may not represent exact scale within interior settings.

Due to differences in monitor calibration and device displays, colours may vary slightly from what appears on screen.

Framed Artwork

Our framed artworks are professionally produced and packaged with care.

Minor variations in wood grain, frame tone, or natural material characteristics are considered normal and are not defects.

Framed artworks must not be dismantled or removed from their frames after delivery. Any damage caused during handling, reframing, dismantling, or removal attempts is not eligible for refund or replacement.

If you are unhappy with an item upon delivery, you must contact us before attempting to alter or remove the artwork from its frame.

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Orders

Please inspect your order immediately upon arrival.

If your item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, you must contact us within 7 days of delivery with:

  • photographs of the artwork
  • photographs of the packaging
  • a description of the issue

Once reviewed, we may offer:

  • a replacement
  • a partial refund
  • a full refund

depending on the nature of the issue.

Return Shipping Costs

Customers are responsible for arranging and paying for return shipping costs.

All returns must be sent using a tracked and insured shipping service. Tracking details must be provided after shipment.

We are not responsible for returns lost or damaged during transit.

Original shipping costs, customs charges, return shipping costs, brokerage fees, and payment processing fees are non-refundable and may be deducted from refunds where applicable.

Hand-delivered returns are not accepted.

Return Inspection

All returned items are inspected upon arrival.

Refunds may be reduced or refused if returned items are:

  • damaged
  • used
  • altered
  • improperly packaged
  • missing original packaging

Refused Deliveries & Unclaimed Parcels

If a parcel is refused, abandoned, or returned due to:

  • unpaid customs or import charges
  • incorrect shipping information
  • failure to collect the parcel

any associated return shipping fees, customs charges, brokerage fees, or original shipping costs may be deducted from the refund.

Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges.

The fastest way to receive a different item is to return the original item (if eligible) and place a new order separately.

Refunds

Once your return has been received and inspected, we will notify you whether the refund has been approved.

If approved, refunds will be issued to the original payment method. Please allow additional time for your bank or payment provider to process the refund.

Please note:

  • original shipping costs are non-refundable
  • customs duties and import fees are non-refundable
  • refund processing times vary depending on your payment provider
